The Health and Wellness Ministry has received cabinet’s approval for 50,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to be made available to the general population.
Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton made the announcement while speaking in parliament on Tuesday.
He said effective today all Jamaicans 18 years and older are eligible to receive doses of the Pfizer brand.
Dr. Tufton noted that the Pfizer vaccine continues to be available for students 12 to 17 years.
