Three remarkable Jamaicans will receive the chorale’s Medal of Excellence for their contributions to the development of the National Chorale of Jamaica (NCOJ) and for their achievements in the field of classical music on an international level.

This year’s recipients are Jamaican international opera singer Dawn Marie James, Marjorie Bayley, and Vivian Crawford.

The event is being held to commemorate the chorale’s 50th anniversary and to honor its golden contribution to choral music, coinciding with Jamaica’s 60th anniversary of Independence.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 22, in the ballroom of King’s House
