Entries for this year’s Competition opened in July to Jamaicans aged 12 to 90 years who have never produced a film in the category/genre for a competition.

Entrants were required to select one Jamaican proverb which then forms the theme for their film treatments.

Drama and Theatre Development Specialist at the JCDC, Shaun Drysdale said the Competition encourages and celebrates the creative cultural transformation that has been happening in Jamaica over the years.

Each filmmaker has been assigned a mentor who will help guide him or her through the production process.

The final day for submission of the finished film is September 8, 2023.
