The Met Office says Tropical Depression two has formed in the Atlantic, just off the US east coast, and could become a tropical storm later tonight.

The depression is expected to become a Tropical Storm by tonight and could continue to strengthen tomorrow. The system is expected to become a Post-Tropical Low and dissipate on Wednesday.
The depression is moving toward the northeast near 29 km/h, and this general motion is expected through Wednesday with increasing forward speed.
If it achieves tropical storm status it will be called Tropical Storm Bill.

The Meteorological Service says it will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
