The International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) will honour Dr. Rita Marley, a reggae icon and humanitarian.
This is in recognition of her humanitarian endeavours and considerable philanthropic activity over her lifetime.
The IRAWMA made the announcement on their Instagram page yesterday.
Dr. Marley took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the acknowledgement.
In 2000, she founded the Rita Marley Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to alleviating poverty and hunger in poor countries.
The International Reggae and World Music Awards is set to take place on March 22, 2024, at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Centre in Fort Lauderdale.
