There will be full enforcement of the ban on locally manufactured and distribution of styrofoam products, used in the food and beverage industry starting this month.
That’s according to the National Environment and Planning Agency NEPA.
The ban became effective yesterday January 1.
Public Relations Officer at NEPA Shahri Miller, says the agency will be focused on bringing stakeholders into compliance in the first few months.
Ms. Miller notes that enforcement will be carried out in a similar manner to the plastic ban last year, with compliance notices being served before businesses or individuals are formally charged.
