President of the Jamaica Medical Doctors’ Association, Dr. Mindi Fitz-Henley says she is hopeful that the Government will agree to desist from offering short-term contracts to doctors.

This comes in the wake of concern that about 150 doctors will be left unemployed, following the expiry of their contracts.

Noting that the Health and Wellness Ministry is slated to meet with the doctors to discuss concerns over the non-renewal of the contracts, Dr. Fitz Henley says she is hoping there will be a positive outcome.
