Man gets life imprisonment for murder of ex-girlfriend Nevia Sinclair

Jermaine Miller, who is convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend, 27-year-old Nevia Sinclair, at her family’s home in Brinkley, St. Elizabeth in January 2020, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for her murder.

Miller will have to serve 20 years before he is eligible for parole.

He was also sentenced to 13 years for burglary.

The sentences which were handed down by High Court Judge, Justice Courtney Daye in the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court today (July 15), are to run concurrently.

Police reports are that on January 12, 2020, Sinclair was fatally stabbed at her family home shortly before 11:00 pm.

Her attacker had gained entry to her room by climbing through a window.

Miller was reportedly seen fleeing the scene.
