The Jamaica Labour Party’s candidates for Western St. Mary Robert Montague and St. Catherine South Central Dr. Andrew Wheatley, will both be nominated by senior members of their campaign teams and will not be physically present at their nominations this morning.

JLP Campaign Spokesperson Kamina Johnson Smith says the men are acting out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of the health and safety of their constituents in Jamaica as a whole.

A JLP release explains that they were present at the same event as Mayor Richard Creary some ten days ago and having learnt of his positive test for the coronvairus, they both decided to isolate themselves and get tested.

Mr. Montague is awaiting the results of his test and Dr. Wheatley is awaiting the health authority’s guidance, for his test to be conducted.

Ms. Johnson Smith adds that neither has any symptom, both feeling perfect health and neither spent time in the company of Mayor Creary at the event.
