Toronto has been killing it during the whole Quarantine. Drake knocked The Weeknd out of the Billboard Hot 100 top spot with “Toosie Slide.
Drake becomes the first solo male artist to have spent a cumulative 50 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, as his new single, “Toosie Slide,” launches atop the list dated April 18.
Now with seven career Hot 100 No. 1s, Drake pushes further ahead of Usher for the most time on top among solo males, with the latter having banked 47 weeks in the lead.
Michael Jackson ranks third in the category with 37 total weeks at No. 1.
Mariah Carey leads all acts with 82 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, having added her three latest frames at the pinnacle in December and January when “All I Want for Christmas Is You” topped the chart, 25 years after its original release.
The song became her 19th No. 1, the most among all soloists.
Rihanna ranks second among all acts with 60 total weeks atop the Hot 100, via 14 No. 1s, while The Beatles place third with 59 first-place frames, thanks to their overall-record 20 No. 1s.
