TAXI AND BUS OPERATOR FINED FOR OVER 1,100 TRAFFIC TICKETS

The taxi and bus operators accused of together having more than 1,000 traffic tickets had their licence suspended when they appeared in court on Monday. Taxi operator, 26 year old Cleveland Dockery of an Arnett Gardens address and 53-year-old Rohan Williams, of Crescent Road, Kingston 10 were also slapped with hefty fines.

Dockery and Williams were arrested last Friday, September 13 for having several unpaid traffic tickets.

Dockery was charged for over 100 traffic tickets, No Motor Vehicle Insurance Coverage, Forgery, Uttering Forged Documents and Conspiracy to Deceive. Dockery was convicted and fined JMD 49,000 or 7 days and his license suspended for 3 years for the traffic offences.

Meantime. Williams who was arrested for having more than 1000 unpaid traffic tickets, was convicted and fined JMD 405,000 or 30 days; and his license was also suspended for 3 years.
