Have a seat Google, Tik Tok is number one now!
Video sharing app TikTok is 2021’s most popular website, according to new data from Cloudflare, a web security and performance company.
TikTok, which last year was “only ranked #7 ” on Cloudflare’s list, climbed the ranks to nab the number 1 spot, according to the company. In 2021, the app got more hits than Google in February, March and June and stayed in the top spot from August.
TikTok was behind Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Netflix, and Amazon, but jumped to the top amid what might be considered a covid-driven surge in popularity.
The app, which is owned by Chinese company “ByteDance”, now counts more than 1 billion active users around the world.
