Tina Lawson and Taraji P Henson both agree that sentence that Jussie Smollett has received does not fit the crime.
Actor Jussie Smollett was sentenced to five months in prison after being found guilty for falsely telling the police that he was a victim of a racist and homophobic 2019 hate crime.
Beyonce’s mom, Tina, weighed in on the whole situation, saying “No matter what opinion you have of whether or not Jussie Smollett did what he is accused of or not. The punishment does not fit the crime. People walk away free from killing our people every day. How many instances of our young Black people have been murdered in the last year, and the people whom they were with are walking free!”
Empire actress Taraji P Henson also gave her two cents on the whole ordeal, “I am not here to debate you on his innocence, but we can agree that the punishment does not fit the crime”.
