The “DMX Challenge” Is Taking Social Media By Storm

DMX fans are taking part in the #dmxchallenge, using the rapper’s song from 2000, “What They really Want” to show off their various hairstyles.

“What They really Want” is from his 1999 album, …And Then There Was X..

In the song, DMX rattles off a list of women he’s met or dated:

There was Brenda, LaTisha, Linda, Felicia / Dawn, LeShaun, Ines, and Alicia / Teresa, Monica, Sharron, Nicki / Lisa, Veronica, Karen, Vicky / Cookie, well, I met her in a ice cream parlor / Tonya, Diane, Lori, and Carla / Marina, Selena, Katrina, Sabrina / About three Kims, LaToya, and Tina / Shelley, Bridget, Cathy, Rasheeda / Kelly, Nicole, Angel, Juanita / Stacy, Tracie, Rohna, and Ronda / Donna, Ulanda, Tawana, and Wanda.

For the challenge, the women piece together photos and clips of themselves in various hairstyles, switching the images to the song’s lyrics to suggest that they’re a different person with every hairstyle.
