Congratulations to Taylor Swift; she is the first musician named as Time’s magazine “Person of the Year.”.

Swift beat out eight other finalists who were announced on NCB’s “Today” show this week. Other finalists included King Charles III and Barbie.

Her response via a tweet on X, formerly Twitter, was adorable. The Wildest Dreams singer responded with

“Time Magazine: We’d like to name you Person of the Yea-”

“Me: Can I bring my cat.”

And she did bring one of her three cats for the shoot.

However, the focus has been on the discussion she had with the magazine, where the singer spoke about her experiences since the inception of her music career until today.

One such moment was her years-old feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. “Make no mistake—my career was taken away from me,” she told Time Magazine. “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.”

If you recall, this feud stems from Ye’s 2016 song “Famous,” where he references Swift. Swift’s rep then released a statement saying the “Anti-Hero” singer was “never made aware” of the lyric, after which Kardashian, who was married to West at the time, insisted that Swift and her husband had agreed on the song’s content in a phone call before its release. Kim Kardashian then released an alleged conversation between Swift and Kanye West where they discussed the reference before the track dropped.

She stated that she didn’t leave her rental for a year after the Kim K. and Ye feud.
