Ever seen two people with an uncanny resemblance but they’re not related?

Well, Kirk Franklin and rapper Plies have been considered doppelgangers based on their resemblance.

Musical director turned rapper Kirk Franklin sat down with host Shannon Sharpe on his podcast called “Club with Shay Shay” over the weekend to chime in on a longstanding joke about the two and why, after all these years, they have yet to meet face-to-face.

“He don’t wanna do nothin’, he be talkin…He be runnin’ his mouth. It’s because we were supposed to been done got together. We was gooing to do something in Florida, in Miami; he don’t wanna do nothin’. It’s because I think he’s really, really, really afraid that I could be his daddy.”

For the past couple years, Franklin and Plies have had social media playing detective, questioning if they are indeed related.

Throwback to March 2021, when the “Imagine Me” singer issued a public apology, after a video of him on the phone swearing at his son was released by his son, Kerrion Franklin.

Jokingly, Plies tried to defend his lookalike and invited him to collab with him. He then joked in a tweet that Franklin should be let off the hook as that was him on the phone instead.
