Z Weather Update: Increased Rainfall Expected Across Jamaica Sunday Through Wednesday, Met Service

Share

A broad area of unsettled weather currently over the southwestern Caribbean Sea is expected to develop into a Low-Pressure area by Saturday afternoon.

According to the Met Service, this system is predicted to move slowly northward, then northwestward over the next two days, reaching close to Jamaica by Sunday night.

Whether or not it intensifies further, the weather service says this Low-Pressure area is likely to bring unstable weather to Jamaica from Sunday night through to Wednesday evening.

The forecast sees cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times, along with strong gusty winds affecting parts of most parishes, particularly in eastern and south-central areas during this time.

Fishers and other marine interests are advised to take extreme caution, as sea conditions are expected to worsen near showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds.
