There’s a Low-Level Jet Stream across Jamaica

The Met Office says this Low-Level Jet Stream is expected to remain across the island through to Wednesday. Expect windy conditions to continue across northern and hilly areas, along with periods of showers especially across northeastern parishes during this time.

A Low-Level Jet Stream is a narrow band of fast flowing winds in the lower levels of the atmosphere.

This morning will see intermittent showers mainly across northeastern parishes. It will also be windy across northern and hilly areas.

This afternoon expect cloudy conditions with showers and isolated thunderstorms across sections of hilly areas and southern parishes.

Tonight, look for lingering showers across sections of northern parishes.

A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for inshore and offshore areas of the north coast, and offshore areas of the south coast due to strong winds and rough seas.

Maximum temperature expected for Kingston and Montego Bay today is 31 degrees Celsius.
