Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake officially opened his new restaurant yesterday and shared some footage of the event on his Instagram.
The restaurant called The Butcher Barrell was opened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, despite a hurricane warning.
A day before the official opening (Sunday, October 7), news of Hurricane Milton closing in on the area broke, but Blake was adamant to open his restaurant, stating, “Rain or shine, our doors will be open tomorrow!”
Several Jamaicans showed their support in the comment section of Blake’s Instagram post, including famous cricketer Chris Gayle, who also ventured into the restaurant business.
Jamaican/American rapper Safaree also showed his support. Earlier today, the "StuntMan" posted a series of photos with Blake, captioning the content, YOHAN BLAKE RICHARD MILLIE & @yohanblake in the Same room is like like seeing a UFO 💪🏾 Big up on the new @thebutchersbarrel grand opening. The food was 🔥🔥🔥"
Blake, who was appreciative of the support, commented, "Thank you for your support my friend."
