Several Janitorial workers of Manpower and Maintenance Services Limited, who are employed at the Spanish Town Hospital in St. Catherine are threatening industrial action over termination letters, issued by their company.
A copy of one of the letters, outlines that the workers are being terminated, under section 11 clause 11.3, which states that the company reserves the right to terminate an employee, upon the request of the client, or that the company’s contract with the client comes to an end.
The contract between Manpower and the hospital has reportedly ended.
As a result workers are to be terminated effective July 31.
