The St Ann police are on the hunt for men who sprayed bullets on a house in Exchange, Ocho Rios in the parish, resulted in the death of a woman on Saturday, November 16.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Yanique Pitt of Exchange.
Reports are that sometime after 4am, Pitt and family members were at home, when gunmen tried to kick off a door to the dwelling.
The woman allegedly used furniture to block the door and prevent the men from entering the house.
In response, the gunmen sprayed bullets into the house, resulting in Pitt being hit several times.
The attackers then fled the area.
The other occupants of the house escaped injury.
Pitt was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
