During a recent interview with ‘The Guardian’, Nigerian singer and songwriter Wizkid revealed that Bob Marley inspired him to create a legacy for himself.

The ‘Essence’ singer said that he went to see ‘Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical’, and made several discoveries, one being that he did not know that the reggae icon passed away at the tender age of 36.

I was like: ‘Yo, we’re watching a Bob Marley play and this guy died decades ago.’ I didn’t even know that he died at 36. He did so much at a young age”. He went on to say, “It just reaffirms what I do, I have to keep taking this to the highest heights. Because I know one day they’re definitely going to create a play about me.”

Wizkid says his aim for this new chapter of his life is to create music that lives on forever.
