Gong's hit single "Welcome to Jamrock" has been certified Platinum in the UK almost two decades after its release.
The British Phonographic Industry awarded the certification on October 3, recognising over 600,000 units sold and streamed in the UK.
The 2005 hit, which samples "World A Music" by Ini Kamoze, soared to number 13 on the UK Singles Chart and peaked at 55 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Welcome to Jamrock is the title track for the reggae star'sthird studio album.
The hit won two Grammy Awards in 2006, for Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance, and has been featured in major video games like FIFA 06, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix, and The Sims 2: Bon Voyage.
It is also certified Gold in the US, UK, and Canada.
