Dancehall Star Vybz Kartel captured the ‘Best Caribbean Music Act’ at the MOBO Awards last evening.
The ceremony took place at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena in England. Kartel topped the category which included other nominees: Masicka, Shenseea, Lila Iké and Ayetian, and Trini soca artiste Yung Bredda
This is Kartel's first win in the category.
Last year, he was honoured with the MOBO Impact Award, recognising his lasting influence on the genre.
Meanwhile, Shenseea was among the night's performers, alongside British pop star Olivia Dean, who took home multiple awards, including Best Female Act and Song of the Year for “Man I Need.”
