Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel is set to make his Toronto debut as the headliner for Drake’s exclusive OVO Birthday Celebration on October 26 and 27.
Drake confirmed the exciting news on Instagram, marking one of the most highly anticipated stops on Kartel’s ongoing Worl’ Boss Tour.
Initially, Kartel had planned performances in Toronto on October 1 and 2, but those dates were quietly removed from his website, leaving fans wondering, until Drake’s announcement followed the wrap of his European “$ome $pecial $hows 4 UK EU” tour.
Ahead of the Toronto shows, Kartel will perform at the World Creole Music Festival in Dominica on October 25. He will then bring his Worl’ Boss Tour energy to Scotiabank Arena, with additional special guests expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
This collaboration highlights Drake’s long standing admiration for Kartel, whom he has often cited as a major influence on both his music and personal style.
