Just a day before Jamaica’s Emancipation Day, the Court of Appeal decided against a retrial for Kartel and his three co-accused: Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Andre St. John, and Kahira Jones.
This decision marks the end of an almost 13-year court battle.
Earlier this morning, the social media page of ‘Shawn Storm’ posted, “My God, if it is thy will today I pray release me out of the hands of Babylon. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen [open hands emoji]” alongside his song “Life Again.”
The four men’s murder convictions were overturned by the United Kingdom Privy Council in March of this year.
