Each artiste in Night One held their own, but the night’s biggest moment? That belonged to the Worl’ Boss himself - Vybz Kartel. After 14 years away from the Sumfest stage, the Dancehall icon was officially crowned King of Dancehall by none other than self-proclaimed Queen of Dancehall, Spice. The last time that title was passed was to “The Doctor” Beenie Man but this time, it was Kartel’s moment.
The moment was crowned with a heartfelt speech from the incarcerated artiste, thanking the people of Jamaica for their unwavering support.

Kartel’s segment was a masterclass in Dancehall history, walking the crowd through each era of his legendary career as fans belted every lyric with pride.
Kartel fed his loyal Gaza Nation with an explosive hour-long set packed with back-to-back hits, proving exactly why he’s considered a living legend.
Opening with a salute to his day-one Gaza warriors, Kartel unleashed militant-era anthems like Weh Dem Feel Like, Broad Daylight, Nuh Fraid, Hustle The Money, and Empire Army. The energy was raw, the crowd locked in. Then came a shift, as he turned his attention to the ladies, unleashing fan favourites like Dumpa Truck, Come Home, Love Dem, Virginity, Beg You A Touch, Know Bout Me, It Bend Like Banana, and Bicycle. Women across the venue made space to "buss a whine," swept up in the nostalgia and passion of the moment.
