Vivica A. Fox says she tries not to complain

In early January, Taraji P. Henson spoke in detail about the pay inequality she has experienced during her career. Several black actresses also spoke on the issue. When fellow actress Vivica A. Fox was asked if she experienced the same issues, she said she was “good.”

Most fans interpreted her comment as selfish, as many social media users believed that her response seemed “standoffish.”

The actress was featured on a podcast called “Brown Girl Grinding,” where she was asked to expound on what she meant by “good.”

The “Kill Bill” actress mentioned that she pushed through her obstacles and did not complain. She described herself as a working bee and the importance of having support.

She then further clarified that she does complain, but it is just to her “circle,” and to avoid being called an “angry black woman” or “emotional,” she steered away from outward complaints.
