It’s expected that a clearer picture will emerge today, about the extent of the impact of Tropical Storm Grace.

The tropical storm dumped heavy rain and brought heavy wind, across the island resulting in mainly flooding and some wind damage in some areas.

Up to late yesterday, residents in flooded areas were urged to move to government shelters.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management says at least three shelters were open, yesterday.

Utility companies – the Jamaica Public Service, National Water Commission and the National Works Agency, are expected to carry out assessments of the damage left by the storm.
