Usher Defends Diddy

Share

More than a year after Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to prison, Usher has stepped forward with a defense that’s raising eyebrows.
During a recent interview, the R&B star made it clear he still sees Diddy through the lens of legacy, not just controversy. While acknowledging that no one is without flaws, Usher pushed the idea that Combs’ impact on music shouldn’t be overshadowed entirely by his legal troubles.
He also drew a line between public perception and personal experience, noting that what he witnessed firsthand doesn’t match the image that’s dominated headlines. Translation: he’s sticking to what he knows even if the rest of the world sees it differently.
Diddy, currently serving a prison sentence  at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution following his 2025 conviction, responded through his team with appreciation, returning the respect Usher publicly showed.
As you can recall, Combs was indicted in 2024 on a sweeping list of allegations, including sex trafficking, coercion, and other serious offenses. By late 2025, he was sentenced to 50 months in prison on prostitution-related charges, alongside a substantial fine, while still facing dozens of civil lawsuits.
