US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the US will “likely” implement a 15% global tariff this week after mixed messages from President Donald Trump.
The tariff replaces last year’s import taxes, which were struck down by the Supreme Court.
A temporary 10% levy was imposed under Section 122 trade authority.
The move raises questions about international trade and deals made under Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs.
