US Escalates Trade Dispute With Canada

Share

US President Donald Trump has imposed a 50% tariff on a wide range of Canadian imports, escalating trade tensions between the two countries.

The new duties, which take effect within 30 days, target products including wine, hockey sticks, and industrial goods while excluding key exports such as energy and critical minerals.

The White House said the tariffs are aimed at protecting American businesses, while Canada has accused the US of unfair trade measures.

The move comes as both nations continue negotiations over existing tariffs on steel, automobiles, and other goods.
