Twenty-two-year-old university student Toranur McIntosh, accused of fatally hitting two men who were helping a motorist in St. Andrew last month, has been granted bail.
McIntosh faces two charges of causing death by dangerous driving.
Following a bail application by his defense attorneys, the court approved a $3 million bail, with sureties, on Wednesday.
McIntosh is scheduled to appear again in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on November 26.
As part of the bail conditions, the judge ordered McIntosh to surrender his travel documents and prohibited him from driving.
Reports indicate that on September 28, two men had stopped along Washington Boulevard to assist a motorist involved in an accident. They were reportedly struck by a car and later died in the hospital.
The victims were identified as 37-year-old Javaughn Rodney, a vehicle inspector from Dagwood Place, Ebony Vale, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and 50-year-old businessman Mark Garrick from Rudolph Avenue, Kingston 20.
