UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea winger Pedro Neto after he pushed a ball boy during the 5-2 Champions League loss to Paris St Germain.

Neto, 26, apologised, saying it happened “in the heat of the moment” while retrieving the ball and later gave the boy his shirt.

The incident sparked an altercation between players, and UEFA said it will decide on the case in due course.

Chelsea host PSG next Tuesday in the second leg, following a Premier League match against Newcastle on Saturday.
