Cardi B spoke out against remarks geared toward her from the U.S. Congressman Glenn Grothman, after he criticized her for her ‘WAP’ Grammy performance.

The rapper slammed the Wisconsin Congressman on social media for calling her performance with Megan Thee Stallion “inconsistent with basic decency.” He said he has been receiving complaints in his office about Cardi B’s performance last month, calling for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to intervene.

In defending herself, the rapper tweeted on Thursday:

“This gets me so mad ya don’t even know! I think we all been on the edge this week since we seen police brutality back-to-back including watching one of the biggest case in history go down DUE to police brutality but wait! This is what state representative decides to talk about.”

WAP, which was released August 2020 has been controversial from the day it was released. It has a lot of people questioning the lyrics, so the Congressman is not the only one.

Is it a thing for politicians to blame entertainers?
