Tyler Perry has donated $100,000 to help Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth
Walker with his defense fund.

The media mogul donated the money in four separate increments and completed
Walker’s goal within hours. Walker is using the money for his defense team in his upcoming trial against Louisville police officer Jonathan Mattingly, who is suing Walker for causing emotional distress and trauma. Mattingly was also shot in the crossfire during the fatal raid at Taylor’s apartment, and decided to file a suit after charges against Walker were dropped.
Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African-American EMT, was fatally shot in her
Louisville apartment on March 13, 2020, when white plainclothes officers Jonathan
Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove of the Louisville Metro police
department (LMPD) forced entry into the apartment as part of an investigation into
drug dealing operations.
