Tyler Perry has denied a US$77 million sexual assault lawsuit filed by actor Mario Rodriguez, calling it a “shakedown.”
In a response filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Perry’s attorney Alex Spiro said the claims lack merit and alleged Rodriguez sought financial help before making accusations.
Rodriguez, who sued Perry last Christmas, claims he was subjected to unwanted advances between 2014 and 2019.
He maintains that friendly text messages between them do not contradict his allegations, saying survivors often remain cordial out of fear or career pressure.
