When it comes to Moralee Nichols’ newborn baby, Tristan Thompson’s is the father.
The Sacramento Kings basketball player posted a note on his Instagram stories Monday stating that a paternity test has proven he fathered a child in December with fitness model, Maralee Nichols.
In the post, Thompson acknowledged how his relationship with Moralee Nichols, hurt Khloe Kardashian, who he was still dating when his newborn was conceived.
“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you,” he wrote. “You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years.”
He also confirmed in the post that he is the father of the newborn child.
“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” the NBA star, 30, wrote. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”
Nichols claimed in a paternity lawsuit that she and Thompson had intercourse over his 30th birthday weekend in March last year, which resulted in her pregnancy. Thompson admitted to having sexual relations with Nichols but denied being the father of her infant, whom she welcomed on Dec.
In an interview with “People”, Nichols said she will only focus on the positives. “Instead of focusing on any negativity, I am choosing to embrace being a mother and doing the best I can for my son. My goal is to raise our son in a safe, healthy, loving and private environment.”
Though Nichols has claimed that she and Thompson had a five-month affair, Thompson has maintained in legal filings that the two only had intercourse once.
