In case you have been under a rock and have not yet heard the news, Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2021 has officially been cancelled. Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley on Monday gave the clearest indication that his Administration is prepared to cancel carnival celebrations in Trinidad next year as the twin-island republic, like all other Caribbean countries, deals with the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) that has so far killed 72 people there and infected 4,362 others.

Over the years hundreds if not thousands of Jamaican have flocked to Trinidad for their one of a kind festivities, and that of course includes Jodi (jinx) Henriques, former host of Business Access TV, food award Judge and of course known carnival costume designer. So the Zee caught up with Jodi and asked her, her thoughts when she heard carnival 2021 was cancelled…

We also asked her how many years has she been attending Trinidad’s Carnival…

She also told us about her costume designs that she was planning for next year…

Before wrapping up Jodi gave us her thoughts on how she thinks the cancellation will further impact Trinidad’s economy…
