A travel advisory is now in effect for persons travelling between Jamaica and China.

This is part of efforts to ensure that the deadly coronavirus does not reach the island.

In giving an update on the situation in parliament this afternoon, Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said a meeting was held this morning with the Chinese Ambassador.

Dr Tufton said for relatives who are concerned about family members in China, the Foreign Affairs Ministry has put measures in place to handle emergent needs.
