The Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services is urging all public transport operators to seriously consider taking the COVID-19 vaccine to reduce the high number of infections, hospitalizations and deaths.
President of the body Edgeton Newman, says he is concerned that taxi operators are reluctant to take the vaccine, especially since the transportation sector has experienced serious financial impacts due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
Mr. Newman is also calling on the Government to find creative ways to encourage more persons, including taxi operators to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Mr. Newman says he believes that with targeted education and promotion, the number of taxi operators who have not yet taken the vaccine, will drastically reduce.
