Effective tomorrow (Sun), motorists traveling to Kingston along the Mandela Highway will use two new lanes at the Tom Cringle Drive intersection.

Communication Manager at the National Works Agency NWA Stephen Shaw, says the lanes, which adjoin the westbound carriageway, are located on a ramp.

Motorists will continue up a slope to get onto the Overpass Bridge at Portia Simpson-Miller Square.

The NWA says the temporary detour was constructed to facilitate the installation of a box culvert over the Duhaney River.

The first half of the structure has been completed.

The box culvert is the last major structure to be built as part of the road improvement project.

The NWA says the 57-million US dollar Mandela Highway Project is 91 per cent complete.
