TODSS Requesting Dr. Nigel Clarke Clarify Stance On Fare Increase Before Demitting Office

Share

With just two weeks remaining before Dr. Nigel Clarke steps down from the Finance Ministry, transport operators are renewing their request for him to clarify the government's stance on the fare increase promised to the sector.

The 16 percent fare hike was initially scheduled for April 1 but was delayed at the minister's request.

Dr. Clarke had emphasized the need to control inflation and keep it in single digits to stabilize the economy.

In a statement, the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS) pointed out that there has been no update from the minister on this matter.

TODSS President Egeton Newman stresses that the sector needs a response from Dr. Clarke before he leaves office on October 31.
