There’s a Trough across Jamaica.

The Met Office says this Trough is expected to drift to the west and away from the island by this evening.

Thereafter, a High Pressure Ridge is expected to slowly build across the region and will become the dominant feature.

Expect windy conditions beginning this afternoon due to a Low-Level Jet Stream across the central Caribbean.

A Low-Level Jet Stream is a relatively narrow band of strong wind in the low levels of the atmosphere.

This morning will be partly cloudy across sections of eastern parishes.

This afternoon expect isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly across central and western parishes. It will also be windy along coastal areas of southern parishes.

Tonight will be partly cloudy.

A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for offshore areas of the south coast due to strong winds and rough seas.

Maximum temperature expected for Kingston and Montego Bay today is 33 degrees Celsius.
