There’s a weak High Pressure Ridge across Jamaica.

Additionally, there is a Low-Level Jet stream across the central Caribbean.

The Met Office says this High Pressure Ridge will further weaken across the island this morning. Later this evening into tonight a Trough will then become the significant feature.

A Low-Level Jet Stream is a relatively narrow band of strong wind in the low levels of the atmosphere.

This morning will be partly cloudy across eastern parishes.

This afternoon expect widely scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across sections of central and western parishes. It will also be windy along coastal areas of southern parishes.

Tonight will become partly cloudy.

A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for offshore areas of the south coast due to strong winds and rough seas.

Maximum temperature expected for Kingston today is 32 degrees Celsius, Montego Bay 33 degrees Celsius.
