After a delayed start and issues relating to the format of the exams, thousands of students are to sit the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate CSEC and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination CAPE, starting today.
The examinations which were delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic will run until July 31.
Preparations have been underway over recent months to get students ready for the regional exams, as students and teachers grappled with remote learning and other challenges.
Students preparing for the exit exams were allowed to resume face-to-face classes to complete their preparations.
Not all students will be sitting the exams this year, as close to 6000 CSEC and about 300 CAPE students requested deferral.
