On Sunday, rapper Kendrick Lamar sent fans into a frenzy, as he dropped a new song and video for ‘The Heart Part 5’, just days before the release of his new album.

The Heart Part 5’ comes five years after ‘The Heart Part 4’, which is the fifth installment in a long-running series. The track samples Marvin Gaye’s 1976 single ‘I Want You’, where we see Lamar morphing into Black cultural figures including Kanye West, Kobe Bryant, Will Smith, OJ Simpson, and the late Nipsey Hussle.

The video also includes a special thanks to ‘South Park’ creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, who are working with Kendrick on creating a live-action comedy.

Kendrick is slated to drop his long-awaited fifth studio album titled ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ this Friday, May 13, and it will be his final release with Top Dog Entertainment (TDE).
