The Recording Academy will introduce five new categories at the 69th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2027.
The new categories are as follows: Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Best Latin Song, Best Asian Pop Music Performance, Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance and Best Traditional Folk Album.
The updated category list also comes with new rules including a revised album threshold, which reflect how modern albums are released with singles across longer timelines, updated Best New Artist eligibility, songwriters and composers now being recognised in the same way as producer and engineers as well as digital-only albums now eligible for even more categories in an effort to reflect modern media consumption.
The 69th Grammy Awards will be held February 7, 2027 in Los Angeles.
