Hitmaker, songwriter and producer, The-Dream has been accused of rape and sexual battery in a lawsuit filed against him by a former protegee.
The-Dream, whose real name is Terius Gesteelde Diamant, called the allegations untrue and defamatory.
The suit was filed by Channii Monroe, whose real name is Chanaaz Mangroe. She claims that in 2015, The-Dream used promises to promote her career to “entangle” her in an abusive relationship.
According to Mangroe, the producer repeatedly assaulted her, made a video of an intimate moment together then threatened to show it to others.
The-Dream is one of the most powerful producers and has produced music for the likes of Rhianna, Beyonce, Justin Beiber and Mariah Carey.
