Universal’s “Michael” moved to second place in its second weekend, adding $9.4 million for a cumulative $31.2 million.
The studio also held third place with “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” which grossed $1.3 million in its fifth frame, bringing its total to $48.1 million.
Black Bear’s horror title “Hokum” was the highest new entry in fourth place with $847,000, while “Project Hail Mary,” distributed by Sony followed in fifth with $784,000, lifting its cumulative to $44.6 million.
